ARTE E CULTURA

There was once a time when coffeehouses were places where people met and
our culture evolved. There was once a time when our history was written and
shaped at the tables of coffeehouses. More than two centuries later, all of this
no longer exists. What were once the cradles of our history and daily lives have
become cafes,  impersonal places where coffee is consumed rapidly and often alone.
The very ritual of coffee has lost the magic that once made it the focal point of a
moment of meeting and enjoyment; this moment has been supplanted by a quick
pause amidst the day's countless tasks.
In order to reverse this trend, Hausbrandt Caffè has created the Accademia Veneziana
del Caffè (Venetian Coffee Academy): a society that proposes to recapture, in a modern way,
the spirit of eighteenth-century Venetian coffeehouses.
The Accademia Veneziana del Caffè is therefore attempting to restore the historical role of coffeehouses, once again turning the rooms behind their windows into the traditional settings for convivial cultural and social exchange.
There are many ways to attain this goal, including paying tribute to the figures in contemporary society who best interpret the spirit and the culture of Venice. A love for all forms of art, a sensitivity towards beauty and aesthetic harmony, and a passion for challenges are the key characteristics of the figures that the Accademia Veneziana del Caffè seeks out and awards.
Coffee is quality and sensations but, more importantly, it is places. For this reason,
particular attention is given to "hospitality operators" who place emphasis on the quality
of the product and service offered, and the atmosphere created by the decor and
attention to details.
Any institutions or individuals who share the goals of the Accademia Veneziana del Caffè,
promoted by Hausbrandt, are welcome to join and participate in the initiative.
